Feeling Secure in Our New Security State?

Who exactly is the National Security State designed to manipulate?  NSA director Keith B. Alexander and Director of National Intelligence James R. Clapper Jr. testify before Congress that their activities must remain secret from the American public in order to fool the unidentified “terrorist” enemy.

Do you suppose they let it go at that?  Or do secrecy cops have another target in mind to manipulate?

Kevin Carson says the answer is Yes.  And they use Orwellian phrases such as “endangered our national security” and “aided the enemy” to keep you off balance.

“These intend to evoke certain associations in the minds of listeners with the choice of the words.  If you’re not careful, you may find yourself responding in just the way the users intend,” he says.
